At the Met

It’s been a long long while since I talked fashion here, hasn’t it?  I recently saw photos from this year’s Met Gala and just had to share a few of my favorites.

This year’s theme was Heavenly Bodies and as you can imagine there were quite a few variations on the theme.  By far my favorite dress of the night was this one.

Blake Lively in a burgundy and gold gown

This is Blake Lively in Atelier Versace and Christian Louboutin heels. I just cannot get over how gorgeous this is.  The color, the detailing, the silhouette, the train, everything.

Emilia Clarke in a black and gold strapless gown

Another favorite, Emilia Clarke in Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda and Christian Louboutin heels.

I loved this one as well.

Stella Maxwell in a strapless gown with images of the Madonna

This is Stella Maxwell in Moschino.

Rihanna never fails to bring something amazing to the table. Minus the headpiece, I loved the look of this.

Rihanna in a silver beaded strapless mini dress with ankle length silver beaded coat

Rihanna is wearing an intricately embellished mini with train and matching shawl-collar coat (all Maison Margiela Artisanal); Christian Louboutin heels, a custom Judith Leiber clutch and jewelry by Cartier, Gilan, Maria Tash, Konstantino Jewelry and Narcisa Pheres.

And while this is not a dress, I thought it was gorgeous. Compared to the rest of her family, Kendall Jenner looked beautiful and classic (although I could have easily said classy).

Kendall is wearing off-white Virgil Abloh off-white Jimmy Choo heels and Tiffany & Co. jewelry.

I loved this dress when I saw it from the side and back. It has such an interesting profile to it. And I love the color.

Diane Kruger in a turquoise strapless mini dress with a long train

This is Diane Kruger in Prabal Gurung.

Unfortunately from the front, it loses all its appeal. I hate the shape of the skirt and I don’t care for the headpiece.  I really don’t love the heels either.

Love this…

Gigi Hadid wearing a navy and gold stained-glass looking one shoulder gown

Gigi Hadid wore a stained-glass effect Atelier Versace gown with a rainbow angel wing across her body, Christian Louboutin heels and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.

Amanda Seyfried wearing a flowing yellow one-shoulder gown

Loved the color on this.  This looked very Greek goddess or possibly a bit of a Renaissance feel.  This is Amanda Seyfried in Prada.

Cynthia Erivo in a plum velvet gown with stomach cut outs

Cynthia Erivo wearing Valentino and a custom Maria Tash septum ring and Maria Tash earrings.  I love the color and cut on this.

Keltie Knight in a black gown with silver embroidery and a sacred heart at the bustline

Keltie Knight in Paolo Sebastian. Wonder what the words say on the skirt? You know I can’t pass up the stars though. I love me some stars.

Lily Aldridge in a yellow gown with a plunge neckline

Lily Aldridge in custom Ralph Lauren and Bvlgari jewelry.  I absolutely adore the color of this and the neckline.  Especially with the diamond and emerald necklace.  What I don’t love is the sleeves and the collar.

Mary J. Blige in Versace.

Ariana Grande in a sky blue gown with a seraphic motif and bow veil atop her bun, plus Butani jewelry. Hate the bow. Love the dress.

And finally, Priyanka Chopra in custom Ralph Lauren and Cartier jewelry. This is rather simple, but beautiful.

It’s always interesting to see the dresses at this event and this year did not disappoint!
