Fall

I finally got around to taking down the Halloween decorations this weekend. Not that I had many out, but they still needed to be packed away. I did a tiny bit of fall decorating as well. I’m not really in the mood to go all out, but a few little touches were what I wanted.

I had forgotton this pillow that I stitched several years ago, and while it works for both Halloween and Fall, I decided I would put it out now. I completely forgot about it last year. It’s got sort of a primitive feel to it, that I am loving right now. I also bought these two wool felt acorns from a woman in my stitching guild last month. Aren’t they fabulous. I just love them. I bought them to use for decorating, but they can be used as pincushions as well. I’d love to figure out how to make these, then I could make a whole bowl full!

I filled this crystal bowl with acorns of a different sort.

I also brought out my amber glass turkeys for the dining room table, along with my fall table runner.

I keep thinking I want to get out my cakestand and arrange some gourds and mini pumpkins on it as a center piece. I may still do that. It’s worth a try anyway.

Our home feels a little cozier, and I am looking forward to the holiday season.

  1. What pretty pictures Michelle! I think that little touches really make a statement, don’t you? The wool acorns are beautiful, and I love your glass turkeys! Nice little pillow too.

  2. Michelle, your decorating is fabulous!! Love it–your turkeys and candles are very tastefully done, and the pillow is adorable. Love the acorns! And hey, your taste in books & movies is wonderful, too. 🙂
