NYFW has come and gone once again. It’s been so fun this season to not only see the pics of the shows pop up on Instagram, but also to see the live streaming from the site. Almost felt like I was right there, except that there were no fun parties or photos of my daily outfits. The big trend that I saw was lots of pops of neon. In fact the Lulu Frost presentation was called Neon Baroque – a fun spin on a modern Marie Antoinette.

Can’t get enough of those amazing statement necklaces and of course the long tutus were a perfect combo with the fitted corset. I may need more neon in my life. I read in a magazine not too long ago that it’s fun to pair bright nails with darker fall/winter outfits – not only does it make that pop of color so much more striking but it also brings a bit of brightness into those overcast grey days.
One of the first shows I streamed was the Marissa Webb runway. I absolutely loved the lines of the clothes – very geometric. Plus the combo with leather was fab.

This black dress was one of my favorites. Not overly dramatic from the front, although I love that leather corset.

No, the big draw for me was the back. Just that extra bit of interest. Almost leaning to harness rather than corset. I love this look.

There were also plenty of bright and flowy in the mix, like this gorgeous orange floral from Rebecca Minkoff. So delicate and oh the movement from the fabric was stunning. Notice also that braids played a big part in NYFW this year.

More braids – and I love the very modern patterning from Nicole Miller. It looks a bit like stained glass, but I love that the colored print is against a white background. It makes me think of modern art like Cubism. And the peplum just adds to the geometric shape of the dress.

Naeem Khan runway (braids!) took that patterning and detail to the next level. Look at how rich this is. And I love it in cocktail length. That is one hot dress.

Rachel Zoe never disappoints. Her pieces were very safari-inspired. I fell completely in love with this little black and white number. Rachel herself wore this for her show as well. It’s got that same delicate flowiness to it that the Minkoff dresses have, but this one doesn’t have that sweet appeal to it.

And while I mentioned braids were everywhere on the runway, Rachel Zoe really did it best with this deconstructed braid. It was messy and wild – an untamed look to go with the pieces.

Kate Spade – you know I love me some Kate Spade – had some fun pieces for SS14. I can’t get enough of this bright yellow especially the lemon-print dresses and skirts. Love! And take a quick peek at the mani – a little reverse French mani with a pop of neon pink. So fun!

And along with all the runway shows and presentations, some of the most fun pics came from Instagram and the lovely ladies attending NYFW. I had the great fortune of stumbling across Courtney Kerr’s Instagram, and immediately followed. I watched her on Most Eligible Dallas and was happily surprised to see there’s a spinoff show coming soon on Bravo. Love her, and especially could not get over this amaze t-shirt she wore at a Lulu Frost gathering. I totally need this in my life – “You Can’t Sit With Us” t-shirt.

And since I’m behind on posting about NYFW, I’ve also been able to enjoy the shows from London, Paris and Milan FW. My favorite at LFW was the Burberry Prorsum SS14 runway. Talk about a beautiful show! So happy to see that mint is still hot and look at all these gorgeous pastels – complete with rose petals for the finale.

My absolutely favorite look from this show was the gorgeous jewel embellished skirts and trench. I mean talk about sparkle! I love how the circles of gems plays off the lace patterning. Gorgeous!

I also loved the black and white – it’s like polka dots but taking it one step further.

And this sweater – I cannot get enough of this sweater. Sweet and sexy with the bow and the open back. There’s something about those details on the back that get me.

That’s all from me on Fashion Week…but oh what inspiration. I love seeing how trends we’re seeing now are reinvented for next season. S0 much fun!
