In June, I was transitioning to a new position at work. Still the same manager with the same team, just taking on a team lead role. That was a challenging adjustment. Along with the adjustments with work, I was feeling rather disconnected – here but not here. I am working on getting back to my daily habits and keeping up with my bujo.
Life continues on with Covid – it’s a rinse and repeat of working from home, baking, and bingeing old tv shows. We finished watching seasons six and seven of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. After that, we watched the second half of the last season of Vikings, which was really really good. I’d forgotten how much I love that show. And then, we decided to watch Band of Brothers which we had recorded sometime last year but never watched. I honestly expected it to be boring and figured I’d spend more time scrolling Instagram than paying attention, but it was surprisingly really good. I recommend it.

Near the end of the month, Ramses quit eating. We thought he might be having issues with his teeth because when we’d give him a treat, he would kind of tilt his head to the side and chew. We finally got him to eat some wet food. And then tried to get him back onto his dry food, but that was a no go. So, we tried a different kind of dry food and he ate that no problem. We eventually mixed in his regular dry food and got him back onto that. He needs to be on that food to avoid all the urinary tract issues we had back in February. But, he was clearly able to eat dry food with no problem. So, it wasn’t his teeth. He is just, apparently, a pain in the ass.

We also bought new towels – I know, not earth shattering, but sometimes the little things make all the difference. We have had white towels in our bathroom for the last fifteen years or so and were just tired of them. We ended up choosing this coral color and it looks good in there, I think. Brings more life to that room. And Eric agrees that it now has more of a Caribbean or Hawaiian feel rather than just “beach”. It feels more tropical now, which is really what I’m going for.

A friend shared some photos of my goddaughter – she went to prom wearing the bridesmaid’s dress that her mom wore to my wedding. I can hardly believe that much time has passed, or that she had been dreaming of being able to wear that dress, but she looked beautiful in it.

My “weekly” (more like monthly) guidance: The Eight of Wands encourages you to go with the flow, rather than resisting; take intentional action to manifest your goals. Into the Future essential oil blend: for confidence, emotional release, decision-making; helps you leave the past behind so that you can move forward. Citrine – for manifestation; clearing any blockages or imbalances in your solar plexus chakra. Gabbro – removes blocks and opens pathways. Blue apatite – helps you to make conscious decisions to shift your priorities to create a healthy mind, body, and spirit balance. Fitting, I think.
